Day Two with the Canon 7D, Lee Big Stopper and ND Grad filters...and a lighter pocket to get to destinations quicker. Less wind on the Thursday so the boat when you focus in is very sharp. It was a case of playing around with the exposure times and gaining an understanding of how everything works. I can see faults but I am very happy for the first trial run and can see great things happening. Good progression...

Ive been testing out my new Canon 7D this week and Im starting to get the hang on if it. The capabilities are incredible so it's just a case of ploughing on and getting out there with it. A photographic course for next year is on the cards.
This was also my first attempt with the LEE Big Stopper and ND Grad, in this case 0.9. I have a lot to learn with this but am picking up little things as I go along. My problem, I dont like to read the manuals for more than ten seconds! With the understanding and practice, it will come.
A very windy day on Wednesday so I couldn't keep the tripod still for very long hence the blur but it has all given me different ideas for the near future. Im happy so far and the learning continues...

Playing with the 7d, Lee Big Stopper and ND grad Filters in Hampshire at the weekend. The water crept up so quickly with out me knowing so I didn't have time to play with the settings and really improve it. The tripod and camera were right in the water with out me knowing, then I could feel my socks getting wet. As quick as I am, I clocked on! 
Maybe ND 0.9 was too harsh but I got the image I wanted and pretty happy. A good day of learning.

Ideal conditions at the weekend for long exposures in the South so I raced down in the car. I need to watch the road more when driving to spots. A few close shaves on route down due to weather watching! Lesson learnt and noted. 
Limited wind for the first time in a long while so a good time to play around with the 7d and filters again. Im struggling with a few things but will get there in time. All in all, very happy and good personal progression. A great weekend!
